A couple of years ago around this time I went on my first Mission Trip to Juarez, Mexico.  Concordia University goes every year to build two homes for those who have nothing.  An organization called Casas Por Cristos send about four leaders to help us with the construction of these two homes.

Some of the requirements to receive a home are being involved in the church and owning the land you are currently living on and showing proof of income.  The homes do not have any indoor plumbing, but they do have electricity.

So often I think about the things I don't have, or the things that I want and don't think I could ever live without them.  Then I look at pictures from my trip and realize God has blessed me with more than I could imagine.  I have a roof over my head with indoor plumbing!  I can actually drink the water that comes out of the pipes without worrying if I will become sick.

This year however Concordia was unable to enter Juarez due to the drug war that is currently taking place.  They did not cancel their trip, instead God made it possible for them to go into Acuna, Mexico.  Another two families will be able to celebrate Easter in a place they can call their own.  However, not even people in a third world country could endure the suffering that Christ did for us on the cross.  Jesus became sin for us so that we could be forgiven and found righteous in His sight (2 Corinthians 5:21).

As believers and followers of Jesus it is our purpose to serve Him.  There are many ways to serve and I pray that each and everyone of us do it in a fitting way which is pleasing to God.  Continue to serve Him every day!

Many things are happening now at Beautiful Savior where more and more people will be asked to serve in many different areas of this church.  I hope I will be seeing more and more of you out on the mission field.

Have a happy and safe Easter!
God's Blessings <><
